On each one of my various travels to Lahore it looks like the amount of vehicles keeps growing and the traffic seems to be getting more horrendous. But the scenario has somewhat altered these past few times and remarkably car drivers appear to be relatively more controlled. On my voyage returning home I chanced upon a report in the paper on the enthusiasm of the Punjab government and specially the police branch to revamp the traffic problem in Lahore and their strategy to regulate the unruly car drivers on the bustling city roads. Here are a number of insights as to why this has been a victorious implementation till now.

Regulation starts with the law enforcement organizations and the Lahore Traffic Police appear to be cracking down in terms of allowing traffic culprits off without some type of punishment. Brazen transgressions like stopping on a zebra crossing or conversing on the cellular phone while traveling were up till the recent past thought of as trivial transgressions by car owners until the police, in attendance at every key corner, began clamping down. Similar transgressions are seldom observed at present and those car owners violating the law have an perceptible look of panic, as if they were close to being issued a ticket at any second.

Still another significant improvement is the encouraging mood exhibited by the Lahore Traffic Police. There is rising gratification in believing what they do genuinely, seeing the valuable result of their pains and getting much praise for their efforts in both papers and the electronic media. Smartly dressed in white and grey garb, the Lahore police force seems to be playing a central part in alleviating the jumble produced by stressed automobile drivers.

Lahore appears to be much more advanced in terms of keeping female police officers and in fact using them on the streets, a case I have almost never observed in any other important city in the country. An outmoded view of courtesy commonly obliged male traffic police to overlook the most hazardous transgressions by female drivers in Lahore, a progressively sore matter for the women in Lahore. With a significant number of women on the Lahore police force, women are now dealing with women, and all the sweet talk in the world are useless against the female Lahore officer's steadfastness.

Stretching the preceding case, the Lahore Traffic Police are applying laws to all automobile drivers irrelevant of the kind of automobile or the automobile owner. Influential and ordinary working individuals are equally responsible and Lahore's police force has performed a brilliant job of administering this law, bringing equitability to at least one area of our lives here in Pakistan. I am positive unwarranted clout must be victorious in a variety of situations but the point remains that an effort was made to admonish the automobile owner to the fullest level manageable by the traffic constable.

These unbelievable endeavors have also aroused the residents of Lahore into contributing. Individuals are giving added attention to their public duties on the avenues and acting in a somewhat cultivated manner. Fresh gadgets to assist Lahore's Traffic Police would be an extra benefit and possibly will be something to think about for the upcoming era. Up till then I presume other towns can learn a lesson from Lahore and commence clamping down on us harried automobile owners.

Although an expansive assortment of cars for sale in Lahore has furnished prospective buyers with further variety, the traffic conditions on the city avenues can become excruciating.
